My 2027 Planner Lineup: Choosing Less

My 2027 Planner Lineup: Choosing Less

If there is one thing I learned about myself in 2026, it is that I apparently needed to try all the planners before figuring out what actually works for me.

This year has been a lot of experimenting. Different planners, different notebooks, different sizes, different layouts. Some I loved for a while, others I quickly realised just weren't for me.

And honestly? I don't regret it.

Trying so many different systems helped me figure out what I actually enjoy using. But it also made me realise that I don't want to keep buying new planners just because something new looks tempting.

So for 2027, I'm doing things differently.

One dated planner. That's it.

My only dated planner for 2027 will be the Take A Note A5. With my new Elysian cover that is being handmade right now.

After trying different planners this year, I've realised that I don't need several dated planners running alongside each other. I want one place for my plans and my days, without constantly wondering which planner I should be using.

The A5 Take A Note will be that place.

And yes, I'm saying this now knowing perfectly well that planner season exists and I will be tested.

Shopping my own stash

The biggest change for 2027 isn't necessarily which notebooks I'm going to use.

It's that most of them are already here.

Instead of starting January with an entirely new stack of notebooks, I want to continue using what I already have and love.

Alongside my Take A Note, I'll keep using my A5 Stalogy Grid and my Sarica Studio Regular Size Grid Insert in my Traveler's Notebook.

No arbitrary January reset. No abandoning a half used notebook because a new year has started.

If there's still paper left, I'm using it.

One little addition

There is one new notebook joining the lineup: an A6 Stalogy Grid. Since I really want to use my BK cover.

I love the freedom of an undated grid notebook, and I wanted something smaller alongside my A5. The A6 gives me that without introducing another planner system or something I feel like I have to keep up with every day.

And with that addition, my 2027 lineup is complete.

My complete 2027 lineup

Take A Note A5
My one and only dated everyday memory keeper.

Stalogy A5 Grid
Already in use and coming with me into 2027. For when the A5 take a note is not enough room to vent.

Sarica Studio Regular Size Grid Insert
Living in my Traveler's Notebook and staying exactly where it is. For on the go journaling. Since an A5 is to big for me to carry around.

Stalogy A6 Grid
The only new notebook I'm adding to the lineup. For when I crave something different.

Three grid books. One dated planner.

That's it.

Or at least, that's the plan.

Less buying, more using

I still love planners and notebooks. That's definitely not changing.

But for 2027, I want to spend less time searching for the next planner and more time actually filling the ones I already own.

I want pages that look used. Journals that become chunky. The dream right? Notebooks that follow me for months instead of being replaced as soon as something new catches my eye. (Guilty)

2026 was the year of figuring out what works. And spending way too much on items I don't use.

I'm hoping 2027 will be the year of simply enjoying it. And actually using and filling up my notebooks.

Less planner hopping. More pages filled.
